OBJECT DESCRIPTION AND IMAGE SESSION

A rather small Planetary Nebula in the constellation of Eridanus around 4 degrees east from Gamma Eridani lying in starless field.  The nebula has a nice green colour outer gas shell, similar to the Eskimo Nebula. It is also known as the Cleopatra's Eye. Visually this object demands large aperture telescopes and high magnification to reveal its structure. NGC 1535 was first spied by the German-born British astronomer William Herschel on February 1, 1785.
