OBJECT DESCRIPTION
NGC 2024 is a beautiful emission nebula in Orion. The proximity with Alnitak (the southern star of the Orion belt) makes the nebula difficut to detect with telescopes. However this star is half the way and nothing has to the with the brightness. The Flame nebula glows in a varitey of coulours, form yellow to orange. The photgrahp was processed from a B&W frame and shows an artificial colour.
